Excitement is in the air for Ann and Joshua Sizemore, who are looking forward to starting a new chapter at Highland Walloon.
The couple, who are currently renting at Deagon north of Brisbane, have become proud first homebuyers, and will move to Highland Walloon around October 2026.
Ann said she never thought owning a home would be possible, but then they discovered Highland Walloon.
“We loved the size of the blocks and the affordability on offer,” she said.
“Walloon is a lovely spot as it’s nice and rural but not too far from everything we need. It’s very exciting.”
The couple, who have a two-year-old son, Leon, and five-year-old Maltese-Shih Tzu-poodle cross, Winnie, are building with ABC Homes and chose a four-bedroom home with a double garage and good-sized yard.
“It’s lovely and spacious, which is what we were looking for,” said Ann.
“I like painting, so I’ll be able to have a studio, and we also have room to expand our family when we are ready.
“I’m already looking at daycare places for Leon and have my eye on Ipswich Grammar School for him as well.”
Ann is a medical scientist and works at Bowen Hills, on Brisbane’s northside, and Joshua is an insurance specialist in Brisbane City. The couple will commute to work with the Warrego Highway and Ipswich Rosewood Road providing a direct and reliable connection.
