It was the impossible dream for Sirena Hay and her partner Tee TANGINOA.
Lifelong renters, buying a home always felt just out of reach.
Now, standing on their own block of land at Highland Walloon, they can finally call themselves homeowners – and it feels fantastic.
“We always said we wanted to own a home, but never really thought it would actually happen,” Sirena said.
“It still feels surreal. It hasn’t fully sunk in yet, but we popped some bubbles on the block to celebrate.”
The couple, who are currently living in Spring Mountain, were drawn to Highland Walloon for a lifestyle change – one that offered more space, a connection to nature and a step away from busy city living.
“We’re not really from city areas, so when we saw it was further out, we knew that’s what we wanted,” said Sirena.
“It just gives us that more relaxed, away-from-the-city kind of life.”
Their new home will be a four-bedroom design with a double garage on a generous 512sqm block with plenty of space for the kids to run around.
“I think what I’m most looking forward to is walking in and knowing it’s ours, and that we’ve done it for the kids,” Sirena said.
“I’m excited to be able to give our daughter a trampoline finally.”
Like many first home buyers, the process initially felt daunting, but Sirena said the experience had been smoother than expected.
“For the most part, it’s been really easy. The support and communication we’ve had has made such a difference.”
The couple is now preparing for the next stage of the journey, with colour selections and finishing touches soon to be finalised, providing the opportunity to personalise their home from the ground up.
“It’s really exciting being able to choose things like the colours, the flooring and finishes. It makes it feel even more like ours,” added Sirena.
While the exact move-in date is yet to be confirmed, one thing is certain – they’re ready to go as soon as they can and can’t wait to start living the Highland Walloon life.
