Residents of Walloon, Thagoona and surrounding communities have been asked to help shape the future of Caledonian Park as Ipswich City Council seeks feedback on an updated master plan.
With families moving into Highland Walloon and surrounding communities, the long-term planning of facilities such as Caledonian Park will help support the sport, recreation and community connections residents value.
That’s exactly the case for Caledonian Park’s planned upgrade, which builds on the original master plan while considering how the space can better serve the growing community.
Among the ideas being considered are future sports fields, improved lighting, additional parking, amenities and other facilities.
Such recreation areas can play an important role in bringing people together, giving children places to play, local clubs to meet and families to spend time outdoors.
They also become gathering points for the everyday moments that help create a sense of belonging, from weekend sport through to an afternoon at the park.
Locals have until Sunday 20 September 2026 to share how they currently use Caledonian Park, what they value about the space and any concerns or suggestions they may have.
Council says community feedback can influence the design and layout of future infrastructure upgrades.
Feedback can be provided through an online survey, by completing a hard-copy survey available from 1 Nicholas Street or Rosewood Library, by emailing Council’s community engagement team or by calling Council on (07) 3810 6666.
